Have you heard about RSS, but don't know what it is?
Do you want to subscribe
to the Teaching Ideas New Additions feed, but don't know where to start?
If so, read on...
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and is an easy way of having content (information, news, links, photos, audio) delivered to your computer for free! You simply subscribe to a 'feed', and your computer checks that feed regularly and downloads new content as soon as something is added it to it.
RSS is a great way of checking for new information on lots of websites without having to spend time visiting each one individually. I use it to download the latest news headlines, and to check the various education feeds which are available (links are available at the bottom of the page).

By subscribing to the 'Teaching Ideas New Additions' Feed, you will receive a link to every new idea or resource as soon as I add it to the site. That means that you don't need to visit the site at all.

If one of the ideas or resources in the feed interests you, click on the link to download it or to view the relevant page.

To subscribe to a feed, you could use some RSS reader software. RSSReader (PC), Pluck (PC), or Vienna (Mac). Once this is installed, simply add the following address as a new subscription:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/teachingideas
You can also use an online service, such as Google Reader, Bloglines or Newsgator to subscribe to RSS feeds. When you have registered, add http://feeds.feedburner.com/teachingideas to your subscriptions and the new additions to the Teaching Ideas site will appear within your subscription list.
Other good education RSS feeds include:
Teaching Ideas, online since 1998, provides free ideas, resources and
